    Around the dog house.....

Today's post is a guest post by BBB's puppy, Piper.  Being as Piper is a puppy, BBB disclaims all liability for misspellings, misconstrued happenings, and misconceptions from this post.

Hi there folks!  This is Piper.  I am THE top dog around the B household.  That OTHER dog, the one with the silly looking long nose, thinks that because she's bigger and older that SHE is the top dog.  However, I know the truth.  So do my humans.  My Humom (BBB)  has been busier than a one-armed paper hanger.  I don't know what that means, but it's just something I heard.  And, trust me, I hear EVERYTHING around here.  You know what they say about little ears.  My Hudad (BBB's hubby) has been very busy also.  This is a crazy busy time of year for him.

One thing I enjoy about my humans is that they take me in the big rolling house.  It is LOTS of fun to go because I don't have to run quite so far to fetch my toys when my humans (usually my Humom) throw them.  Although I have to go out on a leash when we go in the big rolling house, I don't mind because there are usually lots of other dogs and other critters around and I LOVE smelling where they have left their marks.  I also love it because other campers love me and pet me and give me the adoration to which I am due.

This week was very busy and I spent a LOT of time in my crate.  I hate that thing.  My humans put me in it when they go to work, when they go out to eat, well, anytime they aren't home.  I am pretty crafty and had figured out a way to get the  latches open so I could roam the house freely, but doggone it (no pun intended there hehe) they went and put a cord called a bungee on it.  It is so tight that I haven't figured out a way around it.  Yet.  I'm working on it though.

Night before last, when my humans came home from being out (I think they went to a football game), they brought that little human girl.  She's really cute and small.  And I LOVE jumping on her and licking her and chasing toys she throws.  The only thing is, she gets an AWFUL lot of my attention when she is here.  And of all the NERVE, they let that small person sleep on MY couch!!  I couldn't beLIEVE when the small human said she wanted to sleep there and my Humom said yes.  I mean, that's the couch that I always play on.  I keep some of my very important TOYS there.  My favorite CUSHION is there.  My humans didn't care.  They moved ALL my things and the little human slept there all night like a BIG girl.  And THEN, my Humom took that little human to WORK with her.  Talk about insult to injury!  I am the one that my Humom usually takes to work.  That's MY territory.  And I heard my Humom say that the little girl was SO good and she played in my Humom's conference room and watched movies and colored.  I don't know what all those things are, but it's what I heard.  Anyway, my humans put me in my crate last night for a while, and when they came home the little girl was not with them.

My Humom and I had a good time this afternoon.  Humom and Hudad had been to some big new arena in their hometown.  It was a preview for all the public to see.  Whatever THAT means.  I think they must have had a good time because my Humans were very happy when they got home.  Hudad took a nap and my Humom played with me like she should.  She must be feeling bad about the lack of attention given to me because she gave me a brand spankin' new stuffed duck to play with.  We call it DUCK DUCK and it is one of my favorite toys.

I hope Humom has some more toys hiding somewhere because I heard her talking to someone about going to see their son tomorrow.  I don't know who he is, I haven't met him, but I know they love him and they talk about how he is.  I know that I will be spending crate time tomorrow because they said this son person is living far away.  After they get back from doing that, I think I will get to go with them to the house where the little human girl lives.  Humom says they are cooking out so I will be on the lookout for some good morsels.  At the house where the little girl lives, my half sister lives there too.  Her name is Lucy.  I hope we will get to play together.  She's a tiny little squirt, not fluffy like me.  But she's pretty fun.  Tonight, Humom has been IGNORING me and baking a cake to take tomorrow.  It is what she calls Chocolate Sheet cake  I don't know what that is, but it sure smells good and I think I need some of it.   While Humom was baking the cake and IGNORING me, I sat on Hudad's lap and made my very BEST sad, lost, you are ignoring me face, at her.  That almost always works, but if she persistently ignores me, I bark at her, or even better, I go find a kleenex or any piece of paper I can find to chew up.  It not only drives my Humom crazy, but it gets her attention.

Well, I guess that is if for now.  I need to go and practice stealing the big dog's toys.  Hers are always better and she just lays there and let's me take them.  It kinda ruins the fun, but I do it anyway.  If you all EVER want to know the real skinny on my Humom, I'm your dog.  I don't miss much.  Really, I don't miss ANYTHING.  So, I will be back when my Humom let's me do this again.  Till then, be good to your four-legged friends!

From the #1 dog in the world!

    Getting my wits about me...

That is what I have been trying to do this morning.  I took a sleeping pill last night (a different kind than I had been taking).  When I tried to get up this morning I felt like I was on a three day drunk (not that I would really KNOW what that feels like, but what I imagine one would feel like).  I was unsteady on my feet and could NOT walk a straight line.  Sheesh!!  If I were to take another one of those pills, I would probably take one MUCH earlier than I did last night and perhaps that would help.  I am still feeling a little on the goofy side, and heaven knows I need NO help in THAT department.  I can run a little space cadet thing all by my OWN self from time to time with no assistance needed.  Just ask my hubby, bless his heart.

We had such a great time camping.  So great that hubby asked last night what I thought about heading back out for the holiday weekend.  Usually we avoid camping on holiday weekends.  However, I am game.  So we shall see.  I love the new RV and love this time of year, so we may be camping a LOT for a while.

Well, that's all for now folks.  I gotta get a few things done here at work.  I will try to write more later!

    Hugs!

    Aaaacccckkk!!

Our daughter came to the jewelry show last night along with our 14 year old granddaughter.  To give you an idea how tiny she is, she was able to use one of the necklaces as....a BELT around her tiny tiny waist.  And may I just say, that they didn't build many 14 year olds like her in MY day.  Daughter says that the "upper classmen" are beginning to notice our girl.  AAAaaaaccckkk!!  I am SO not ready for that!  But I will admit that I think she's a beauty, and I am really proud of her.  Her first game that she wil cheer at is next week and I am SO gonna be there embarrassing her by taking tons of pictures.

I just returned from taking the boss man to his birthday lunch along with his admin in our other office.  We went for Mexican which was YUMMERS.  And, I had picked up a "marbled white and chocolate" birthday cake with marshmallow icing.  It was lucious!!  Needless to say, I rolled back in here to the office and I really need a NAP!!

We will be heading for the lake as soon as I get off work.  So, I will check you all later!!  Have a marvy weekend, my friends!

    Tickets and other nonsense...

To answer Jane's question in my comments.  Yeehaw!  I scored 7th row center tickets to *ZZTop*!!  If I had gotten there JUST a little quicker, I would have had 4th or 5th row seats.  But I am happy with 7th row!!  It is a rather small venue, so they will be quite close.  Woohoo!!

I am having a *Premier* jewelry party tonight.  I used to sell the stuff, so I need more jewelry like another HOLE in my head.  However, the young lady who is selling is just getting a start and is selling to make money to pay doctor bills of her profoundly disabled little girl.  I met "L" when I was going to *Weight*Watchers* not long after her little girl was born.  They didn't expect the child to make it to one year old.  She is now a little past 3 yrs old!!  So, the party is for a good cause.

Hubby and I are going camping this weekend.  Yay!!  So my time on here will be limited unless we can find some WIFI somewhere (which is doubtful).  Oh!  And we got our old RV sold!!  I am doin' the happy dance!!  A nice young couple wanted it for their first RV.  Hubby made them a heck of a deal.

I hope everyone has a lovely Friday!  I'll be back when I can!  Love ya'll!

    Still here!

Yes, I am still here.  I have just not been able to write.  Is that called writer's block?  I did do a draft entry the other day, but decided not to post it.  It just seemed to be a little on the negative side.  So, I decided against the post.

We had a great time Friday night with hubby's nephews from Colorado and their families.  Son-in-law grilled burgers and dogs.  I made my mother-in-laws recipes of oriental slaw and also the chocolate sheet cake the whole family loved.  They were a definite hit with the fam.  It was nice to be able to sit and visit with the wives and to watch all the kids (their kids and my grandkids) play.  They ran around and hollered and hopped and jumped and dressed up and watched (?) movies (this one I am not sure of...two of the kids were supposedly watching a movie, but they seemed more interested in making jokes and punching each other).  One of the nephew's wives is an interior decorator for high dollar homes in the area where they live.  She and I visited and she liked my ideas for the kitchen.  My son-in-law swore when we got there to their house for the cookout, that he was indeed in cabinet building mode.  Same song, thirty-second verse.  I will believe it when I see it.

Saturday night we had a great time with the Gypsy.  She fixed some wonderful shish kabobs.  Yummmy!  And I had cake left from the previous night which I took.  I had several nice glasses of wine, a nice dinner, yummy dessert, and a great visit with my friend.  So, it was an all around good evening.  The weather here has been unseasonably cool and nice in the evenings.  I am loving it!  Thus, it has been perfect cookout weather.

While it wasn't a spectacular weekend, it was a calm, laid back one and I enjoyed it.

Wednesday, I am going to try to score us some *ZZTop* tickets.  They are having a "pre-sale" at 10 a.m. so I am going to buzz out of the office JUST long enough to get tickets.  Other than that, nothing much exciting going on here this week.  I will try to get on here later in the week.  Okie dokie?

    Ya'll have a good week!

    This 'n that...

Well here we are almost halfway through the week.  It will be Friday before we can blink.  I guess my life is just way too busy.  That's what our daughter tells us.  What can she mean??  Just because we have forgotten our wedding anniversary before.  I mean, hasn't everyone done that?  No, you say?? Well, we only did that once.  And in our defense, I had been in South America for a week the week prior to that.  I was moving on about one cylinder.

But, I don't know what rock I have been hiding under such that I missed a major news event.  Our conversation at dinner went something like this:

Hubby:  Did you hear about the trial for *Victoria*Osteen*?

Me:  What the heck are you talking about?

    Hubby:  Her trial started today.

    Me:  For what?

Hubby:  She supposedly attacked a flight attendant over a spill on the arm of her chair in first class which wasn't cleaned up to her satisfaction.  You mean you haven't heard about this?

    Me:  I didn't have a clue.

So I immediately had to come home and *Google* her.  I have, from time to time watched and enjoyed her husband's sermons.  I never would have thought of her as a preacher's wifezilla.  But I could be wrong.  I do know they are extremely wealthy due to pastoring a church of 60,000 members.  Who knows where the truth lies.  But I kinda have a feeling the flight attendant is "suffering" from "she has too much moneyitis" being as she is asking for 10% of *Osteen's* net worth.  For her post traumatic stress and her loss of faith (for good measure).

I guess I am way too busy if something like that goes unnoticed by me.

In other news.  I, along with my co-worker in our other office, am  trying to set up a birthday luncheon for our boss.  His birthday is next week.  I am doing this even though no one in our other office even said so much as "kiss my grits" to me on MY birthday.  Yeah.  I am taking the high road here.  I guess I should be used to this.  One year when they had the June birthday cake (supposedly for everyone who has a June birthday), they failed to even INVITE me.  So it should NOT have surprised me that not ONE PERSON even said happy birthday....even though I have worked with these people for some 15 years now.  But the boss SHALL get a birthday lunch, dang it!!  And he will enJOY it if it kills me.

We read in today's paper that my sister-in-law's mother passed away.  Yes.  We read it in the paper.  She has been here for a couple of weeks, as have hubby's nephews.  No one let us know Mrs. D was that bad.  Hubby's brother figured they called us, so he didn't either.  We will be going to the visitation and service.  I can just figure that my SIL had so much going on that she just didn't think to call.  It's a hard time when you lose your Momma, as I well know.

Lastly, we will be having dinner with the Gypsy this Saturday.  I always love having dinner with her because she always has some story or another about something going on in her life (which has been a lot more interesting than mine).

Well, that is all of this 'n that.  I hope you all have a lovely hump day!

    Toodles!

    New blog friend....

One of the things I LOVE to do is cruise around and visit other people's blogs.  OTHER people's lives fascinate me, especially when they live in different parts of the country.  A new blog friend of mine is found over at twentyfouratheart.typepad.com.   I have really enjoyed visiting this nice lady who lives in the OC.  I love to read her observations regarding the people who live in the OC (and how different many of their lives are from mine).  My new friend also is writing about her process of recovering from her devastating car accident.  She is a brave and wonderful woman.  And she's pretty doggone funny too!

If you get a moment, cruise on over and visit twentyfour!  I think you will love her blog.  AND, she is hosting a simple and fun contest for which the prize will be a Fifty Dollar American Express Gift Card!  Now, who couldn't use one of THOSE!!  So, stop on by, leave twentyfour a comment or two and enjoy!  Tell her BBB sent ya!!

    Hugs to you all!

    Lazy Sunday....

Yeah.  I should have my bad self in church this morning.  But I didn't have the heart to wake hubby up.  He had such a busy week and because of the heat he was up and out by 5:30 or 6:00  every morning to beat the heat.  So, I let him sleep this morning, fielding the dogs who needed potty breaks and feeding.  I had just sat down to eat a really nice bowl of fresh peaches and I heard it.  The sound of the Weimie getting sick.  Oh JOY!!  Just what I love to do on a Sunday morning.  I told you I should have had my bad self in church!  Then I would have had to clean up after the Weimie after getting home.

It has been kind of a quiet weekend.  I had a luncheon with three ladies I went to church with way back when....we were young and single.  A number of us have kept in touch all these years and we try to get together regularly.   So, yesterday four of us had a really nice visit and lunch.

Outside of that, we have had the Olympics playing pretty much non-stop on the big screen.  My faves are the swimming and indoor volleyball.  I watch the rest, but those are my favorites.

I am so thankful that we have had a little rain and some cooler temperatures these last few days.  What a blessed relief it has been.  I would have sat out on the patio, but I fear the mosquitos which are HUGE this year.

Hubby is stirring from a nap so I guess I will hop off here.  We are going to take my old computer and desk to my great niece.  She will be using it for her school work this year (and her *Myspace* page too I'm sure!!).

I hope everyone has had a great weekend!  Toodles!

    Gone....

Okay.  I didn't want to leave my personal pictures up and I could not get JUST the pictures deleted from the entry, so I had to delete the whole entry.  Sorry about that.  I am still trying to figure all this blog stuff out.  Hopefully, most of my blog regulars made it by.

Have a great rest of the week.  Friday is almost upon us.  Wooohoooo!!
