March 28 I tried...in vain!Last night hubby was out of the house. A good friend that he worked with for many years (who I did not know, and had only met a few times) passed away. He went to the visitation at the funeral home since he couldn't attend the funeral today. So I sat down at the trusty laptop and wrote a nice LONG entry. And where, you may ask, is said entry?? Well, dumb, dumb, dumb Sp*ces would NOT let me publish it, NOR would it let me save it as a draft. Of course, every time I try to save an entry as a draft it DISAPPEARS anyway!! Dumb, frustrating, dumb, dumb, dumb!! Can ya tell I am NOT a happy camper?
Nonetheless, I wish all my blog buddies a good weekend. I will try to re-write my post when I have more time.
Now, let's see if you know who will cooperate and publish THIS!!
BBB March 25 A quick update...I got the test results from the Doctor and my thyroid is back up functioning where it should be. So evidently the Doc was right on in thinking there is a little more going on. I am going to continue on all the meds she gave me, except that one sleep med that just doesn't work. I am actually feeling pretty good today!! I am going for my workout tonight and am really looking forward to it.
I am sorry this is short....but I will be back with more later!
Till then...take care!
BBB March 22 It's Saturday....hoooray!!It is Saturday morning and I am sitting here blogging while one dog lays in her chair (yes, she has her OWN chair) and the puppy plays with her toys. Both of them were fed first thing of course. We are on a schedule you know?? They eat at a certain time during the week and fully expect to eat at that early time even if it IS the weekend. So there is no laying of your rusty dusty in the bed and being a slug-a-bed. Nosirreee!! Someone gets up and gets them fed. Today it was me. I feel pretty rested though. I finally broke down and took an Ambien* so I could hopefully sleep. The doctor had given me the new stuff that has the ads with the beaver and Abe. As one message board said....the only good thing about that stuff is the beaver in the commercial. It did not help me at ALL. Last night, I went to sleep holding on to my pillow as usual, and that is the EXACT way I woke up. No waking up every hour or so. WOOHOO!! So, I am ready to get my day on.
About last night. I got a call from S yesterday while at work and she was so upset. D had just called her to say that his work (he works at one of our large refineries) had said he had to work until midnight. No questions asked. Just work. I felt so sorry for her. She said that she had a bunch of people that NEVER come out any more (like us) who were planning on coming. So, she asked if we could postpone till next Friday. I told her to count us in because we really want to see them. Hubby and I ended up going out to Riverwalk (our fave place) and ate a nice Mexican dinner. EVERYONE was out taking advantage of the mild temps, listening to a good local band. Mind you, a jacket was welcome. The wind still has a little bite to it. But all in all it was lovely. We came home, went out in the back yard and played with the dogs a while. Then we came in and got OUR game on. I sure do suck at baseball!! I mean really really suck! But I am determined to learn how to play. However, when it come to bowling....I ROCK!!! Woooohoooo!!
Okay so here is a story. Of BBB's past. I hope it doesn't bore you. I mentioned in an early post how a good friend had gotten me started going dancing, and once I figured out what I was doing, how much I enjoyed it. I used to go out sometimes 3 or 4 times a week, just to dance a little bit. I was hooked. I may have told about the group that I hung out with. A really nice bunch of men and women who all danced together and looked out for each other. S and D were newly married and I got to know them pretty well. I LOVED watching them dance. There were just so beautiful together. One weekend I was out with my friend who had gotten me hooked in the first place and S and D came in, with a guy. S introduced the guy as her brother, she said his name but that everyone called him Bubba. He was a good looking son of a gun but pretty cocky. It seemed that he lived in Dallas and came in from time to time on business and would come out with them. We visited a little and danced a little. And I watched Bubba flirt unmercifully with all the single women. He was really smooth. JUST the kinda guy I usually avoided like the plague. Guys like that kinda scared me and usually weren't interested in me anyway. At the end of the evening (yes, we pretty much closed the place down on weekends), Bubba came over and asked if my friend and I wanted to go out with him, D and S for breakfast. Yepper. We would usually hit the nearest Village Inn after a long night of dancing and eat breakfast, then go home and crawl in bed. Mind you, at that time I might have been about 115 pounds soaking wet. I could do that. As long as I kept dancing. I never gained weight. Anywho...I digress. I told Bubba that if D and S were going that sure we'd go. So we all met up at Village Inn and enjoyed visiting and eating breakfast. During that breakfast, Bubba and I got to talking about where we grew up, etc. At that time I didn't know that much about S, just that she was a really sweet, pretty lady. In talking with Bubba we talked about our schools we'd attended. Turned out he had graduated from my high school. It also turned out that he went to my grade school (from kindergarten on), it also turned out that he had lived the next block over from me, AND it turned out that he had been my parent's paper boy for forever. The paper boy I was so shy about that I would slam the door in his face and yell at Momma that the paper boy was there to collect. Bubba and I started dating and hanging out whenever he was in town. I don't like long distane relationships much. I knew he also dated a girl in TX where he lived as well. Didn't bother me. I was still dating around myself, eventually met first hubby and got married. That's a whole nother story though. It amazed me once I learned that not only was S a neat lady, but she had grown up in my neighborhood. We got to be really good friends after that. How she introduced me to present hubby is another story for another time. I have LOTS of stories ya know. For a couple of years I had a really good time hanging out with S and D and Bubba, dancing, going to the lake, you name it. We had a great time. There is more to that story of friendship as well. But I shall save it for another day.
Suffice it to say, we will be meeting them next Friday and we shall celebrate D's birthday belatedly. And it will be a good time.
It is a lovely day here so far. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Till next time, take care my friends!!
BBB March 20 This is up...It has been a busy evening. I got home and fed the dogs (yeah....they eat before we do!!). Then I got to work on dinner. I fixed a meatloaf, steamed fresh asparagus, ceasar salad (with lots of black olives) and a baked potatoe (which we split). It turned out very good if I do say so myself. I make really good meatloaf. W*lMart had the fresh asparagus on sale and it just sounded good. After dinner, hubby cleaned the kitchen and I hopped in the car and took back library books then headed to P*tco to get....more dog food!! Yessiree!! Our dogs eat well!
Tomorrow evening hubby and I are going to go out with the couple who introduced us. It is D's birthday, so we are gonna go to a local dance hall and meet them there. We haven't been dancing in a LONG time. I don't even know if I will remember how. However, dancing or not, it will be wonderful to see D and S. S and my hubby went to high school together. Actually, she lived the next block over from me and I am the same age as her younger brother, so he and I knew each other from kindergarten on. I never met S until I was an adult though. Anywho, we haven't gotten to spend any time with this couple in a long time, so I am really looking forward to the visit. There will be a number of people out tomorrow night that I used to go out dancing with when I was single. So it should be lotsa fun.
Saturday I will be going to get my hair cut. Hopefully, there will be NO drama at the hairdressers. At least not MY drama. Then I need to go pick up my new picture and get it hung up. Then I will try to get some pics of the finished room for you all to see. I am really happy with it! I still need window treatments, but I don't know when I am going to find anything I like.
Sunday, we are going to take my Daddy to his church he and Momma used to go to. Then we are going to take him out to eat. It should be a nice day. I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Easter! For you lucky people like KAT, enjoy your day off tomorrow while the rest of us SLAVE away!! hehehe
Till next time, my friends!! Take care!!
BBB Whats up??I am sorry I haven't posted this week. It has been very busy at work doggone it and in the evenings I haven't been worth shooting! I will be going to our other office tomorrow to work. The admin there for my boss is on vacay and has been since yesterday. I took pity and asked the bossman if he would like if I came there for the whole day tomorrow. I think he was kind of surprised because he knows I hate going to our other office. However, in the spirit of being helpful, I offered to go. Hubby will have to field the dogs tomorrow. I am not sure HOW that is gonna work out. We shall see. I asked hubby first before I made the offer. Going to our other office also necessitates me trading vehicles with hubby. There is NO WAY I am going to let them park my truck in the parking garage for me. No. Way!! They have "valets" that park your vehicle for you. It just isn't happening with the truck. It is way too big and no telling how they would park it.
Oh! As I was leaving the hairdressers sick as a dog on Saturday, the phone rang and it was H*bby Lobby telling me my picture for the master bedroom is ready. That is one more thing I will have to do this weekend!!
Well, I am sorry this is so brief. I will try to get on tonight and post more and visit everyone!!
Have a good one!!
BBB March 16 Feeling better!!Uh huh!! Except for a little bout of nausea today, I have felt much better. Both hubs and I slept in and I felt much better. The only exception was when hubby was warming up a pot pie. The smell just about made me ill. I had to leave the kitchen. Other than that, I have had no problems today for which I am thankful. We had to go pick up the PT which we had to leave at the hairdressers. To tell you how OUT of it I was, yesterday early evening, I went out on the patio and asked hubby if he had the PT in the side yard or something. I did not remember leaving it so that he could bring me home. Duhhh!!
Today, we became the proud owners of a Wii*!!! I have been wanting one since Christmas but they were just going on EB@y for RIDICULOUS prices. I mean, come on!! Was I really so stupid that I would pay 3 or 4 or even 5 hundred bucks for something you can get for $250?? No way!! We saw an ad, we went, and we purchased. We came home and hubby hooked it all up then we PLAYED!! Wooohooo!! Talk about FUN!!! We played us some bowling (which I whupped some major hubby tail!!) and baseball which I lost MISERABLY!!! I had hubby look, and they have a workout game which I want to check into. Since my blog bud NJaney has blogged so much about Guit@r Hero, I must check into that as well. All in due time. The games aren't cheap. Anywho, I think hubs and I are gonna have fun playing some lively games. And, I have a feeling the grandchildren are gonna want to come play as well.
I have a busy week coming up so I hope that I manage to stay well. I will be back to post more of the goings on in the BBB household very soon.
Till then, take care, my friends!!
BBB Sick....Did I say in my last post I wanted some down time?? Well, I got my wish, but not the way I had planned. I did lay down for a bit Friday after I came home from the doc. I really wasn't feeling well, but not really that bad. Hubby grilled some steaks we had in the fridge and we just chilled at home, which is not our usual Friday night. But it was nice. I went to bed about 10:30 and as usual, even with the new sleeping med, woke up no less than three times during the night. I got up yesterday feeling okay. I got myself around, got the dogs fed and headed out for my hair appointment. As I customarily do, I stopped by Panera* bread and picked up a Sesame Bagel and cream cheese for my hairdresser. It is something I have done for forever...bring him breakfast and he loves it. He usually eats while my hair color is processing. Usually, I don't get anything for me. However, since I had to take my thyroid med I needed to eat, so I got me a bagel as well and ate it on the way there. I always enjoy visiting with my hairdresser. He is just one of the nicest people and I consider him a friend. We proceeded with our usual chat while he put the hair color on. When he got it all on, I moved to another chair so he could cut another lady's hair while mine processed. I was sitting at the hair dryer chairs and picked up my book I had brought and began reading. All of a sudden I started feeling a little wonky. So I got my purse and book and headed to the bathroom. I laid them down by the door. Used the bathroom and washed my hands. Suddenly I started feeling dizzy and light headed. I sat down on the toilet and tried to put my head down like they tell you to. But that just made me feel nauseaous. So, I just sat down on the floor. And I got sick. And I passed smooth out!! I am not sure how long I was out. But when I came to I realized I was a REAL MESS!! I was really weak and couldn't get up and was too embarrassed to cry out for help (the shop was FULL on a Sat. morning!). Luckily, I could JUST REACH my cell phone in my purse by the door. I called hubby and told him to bring: a new set of clothes, towels and a washcloth to clean myself up. Then I sat in the floor and cried. It seems I was in the bathroom for over an hour altogether. It took hubby about half an hour to get my stuff and get to me. Now, my hairdresser had finished with the other lady and wondered where the heck I was. Someone mentioned that maybe I was in the bathroom. He told hubby they thought about checking on me, but they hadn't. Long story short, I got cleaned up and dressed, had the hairdresser wash out the color and then had hubby take me home. My hairdresser said I looked rather ghostly pale. I was and I was weak as a kitten. When I got home I crawled in bed and slept for several hours. I later moved to the couch and stayed there until bed time. I never got sick again. I was just chilling with fever and really weak. Hubby waited on me hand and foot whilst trying to build shelves for the new pantry. Bless his heart!!
My hairdresser called last night to check on me and I am going to go in NEXT Saturday so he can cut my hair. What a fiasco!! It was so embarrassing!! I feel okay so far this morning. I hope it stays that way. I do not want a repeat of yesterday thank you very much. Anywho, that is how my weekend has been so far. I hope my blog buds are having MUCH better weekends than I have had. Speaking of, I think I will take a little walk and visit you all and see what's up.
You all take care now!
BBB March 14 Ahhhh...the weekend!!Am I ever ready for the weekend!! It has been a loooonnnnngggg week. It was busy at work. I had a meeting regarding the board I sit on that was not a whole lot of fun. But...the week is done. I went to the doc this afternoon and she gave me a couple of prescriptions that she thinks will help and also had them take blood to see where my thyroid situation sits. If the levels are not where she wants, she said we will adjust my medication. Oh! And the two medications she gave me were new ones and VERY expensive. So she gave me a months worth of them to see if I even like them. If I don't, at least I won't be out a whole lotta money. After I finished up at the doc, I was so tired I went ahead and went home. I put on my baggie pants and a t-shirt and crawled up on the couch for an hour's nap. It was pure HEAVEN!!
I took Piper to the groomer's this morning. She was definitely looking a little ragged. She is now sporting her new "do" as well as a brand new OSU Cowboys bandana! She looks so cute!!
Last night, hubby and I attended the basketball game I mentioned in my last post. It was a nice evening. I am not really sure it is something I would do regularly, but for a night out doing something different, I enjoyed it. I did, however, eat WAY too much ball game food...i.e. a chilidog and nachos, plus we had a bag of goobers. I love good old salted goobers!! We don't ever get those, so that was a real treat! What WASN'T a real treat was the heartburn that woke me up about 2 a.m. this morning. I finally got up and went in on the couch where I could sleep kind of sitting up. That and some Maal*ox worked wonders. Ummmm....it probably would help if, in the future, I would refrain from making a little oink of myself!!
I am so ready to get the trailer out and go camping. It is just perfect this time of year, before the crowds, and before the heat sets in. Spring and fall are my fave times to go. Since we have the Seadoo*s which we HOPE are running now, we are going to be selling our above-ground pool. It is HUGE!! So we will have lots more room out in the back yard. Mind you, we already have a huge yard, but the pool takes up a pretty big part of one corner. It is going to be strange to not have the pool. The grandkids don't use it any more and we don't use it enough to warrant the upkeep that hubby has to do to maintain it. Thus, it is a goner, at least I hope it is.
I have a good book that is just CALLIN' my name. It is one of my fave authors, Rita Mae Brown (and her trusty kitty Sneaky Pie). Although I do not have cats because of my allergies, I love her Sneaky Pie series of books and have read them everyone. I love mysteries and I love her recurring characters. So I am going to grab me an afghan, my trusty mystery book and crawl back up on the couch for the evening. If there is something needing done around here tonight, it just ISN'T happening!! No sirreee! Not tonight anywhoodle.
I hope to blog walk a little bit before I do my curling up thing. I wish all my blog buds a GREAT weekend!
Cya next time!!
BBB March 11 An update...It was what Bruce (Almighty...in the movie) called a B. E. A. UTIFUL weekend!! The weather in the central south U.S. was just lovely. I have been SO ready for the nice weather. I managed to get both of our vehicles over to my fave one stop service place for a nice wash/wax/shine/vacuuming/and mini-detailing. Woohoo!! Both the truck and the PT were just pitifully dirty with not only road dirt, but salt from the bad weather we'd had. They now look like respectable vehicles.
Saturday the hubby and I just hung out together. We returned some sheets that bestie and I bought at Lin*ns and Things (they just weren't SOFT enough), ate at our fave sandwich place (I have been eating at this place since I was in HIGH school if that tells you anything), and went by to see the kids and grandkids. Oh!! BTW...my absolutely WONDERFUL marvelous, talented son-in-law says he is building my cabinets THIS WEEK!!
My youngest granddaughter is getting ready to celebrate her 4th birthday!! Man, it just seems like I blinked and here she is at four!! Daughter is planning what is called a "Princess Partea". That is the name of the outfit that for the measly (errr right!) sum of $300 will bring the whole tea party set up, treats, all kinds of costumes and stuff, and put on the party for I think about 8 or 10 little princesses. The funny thing is, that when bestie was here I asked her if my recollection was correct, and it was, that a friend of hers from childhood actually started this company. She does VERY WELL indeed. There are many Moms and Dads out there for whom that price is just chump change. I offered to help with the cost and my SIL jumped at that offer!! It will be kind of fun to be able to watch these little girls playing dress up and having their tea party. Our daughter is baking and decorating a teapot shaped cake for the "do". She is quite talented and I know it will turn out well, plus it will save her a load of money. I hear she has paid around $75 for previous cakes at the "it" cake decorator. I didn't know there was such a thing. But evidently in THEIR circle, there is. And I would never pay that price for a simple birthday cake.
On Sunday, hubby and I just stayed home. I am still having problems with getting up and around every day (dang Thyroid!!), plus, we had a discussion on Saturday evening at dinner, that we may be looking for a new church home. This is a major thing for us. We have gone to this same church since before we were even married (actually about 14 years). This is the longest I have ever gone to one church in my whole life. We aren't mad at anyone or anything like that. We just feel like this church is not meeting our spiritual needs and we want to explore other options. It will be difficult because we LOVE so many of the people at this church. We have spent so much time serving in various ministries there that I cannot even remember when we last attended a bible class. It is time for us to be fed for a while. I am looking forward to this in a way, and in a way, I am not. We shall see how it goes.
Thursday night we are going to attend a pro basketball game. There is a team here that is a development team for a couple of the pro teams. I can't remember which ones. But these guys leave this team and go to the NBA. Anywho, we are going to go to one of their last games and see what it is all about. I am not much of a fan of watching sports on TV. However, I do love to attend games so I can watch the action up close and live!! I am really looking forward to this. I have met several of the players recently and they seem like a good bunch of athletes!
This weekend it is time to get my hair done. I always look forward to that!! Outside of that, we really don't have any big plans. If I didn't have the hair appointment, I would be urging hubby to take the trailer out and camp (now that the EVIL HORRID MYSTERY SMELL is gone!!).
Well, I guess I better get off here and give the puppy some attention. She can get destructive in a heartbeat if you ignore her. Which is what I am doing right now. I have had to stop to take away two afghans, one throw rug and get her away from a piece of the carpet (which we have pulled up due to the re-model).
I hope you all have a wonderful hump day tomorrow!! We are half way to Friday!! Yeehaw!!
Take care, my friends.
BBB I'm alive!!It's just been crazy busy so far this week. I would like to try to post tonight. It depends on whether the hubby is using his laptop to watch movies again. I will try to at least update you all!!
Later, friends and fellow blog dorks!!
BBB March 08 Notes of interest.....or notSo the week is over. Wooohooo!!! Another week done. Finito! I guess it was a pretty good week all in all. I got lots done at work, especially my billing. Which is important. They gotta bill for the stuff that BBB does ya know. As I write, I am watching the Big dog play with the Little dog. It is SO funny! Big dog definitely lets Piper know she is the Alpha around this house. And that suits Piper just fine. She runs at Big dog, jumps and bites at her, then scampers off, wanting a chase. Which she usually gets. We have to monitor this activity though. Big dog can get a LITTLE too boisterous and it usually ends up with a "Yip" from Piper. At which point, we must referee and end the play, sending each to their respective corner of the living room.
Dang it, it was MY morning to get up with said dogs. No sleeping in for triple B this morning. No sir!! Mister is STILL in bed sawing away as I write this. Darn his lucky hide!! We alternate mornings getting up. Now when Mister had his heart attack about a year and a half ago, part of his recovery therapy was walking on the treadmill. He did it faithfully. Every morning. At 5:30!!! Now, the Big dog, being a dog, got USED to this schedule. So now, even though Mister does NOT walk every day faithfully (as he should) Big dog thinks it is time to get up. At 5 freakin' 30!!! Thanks so MUCH Mister!! And of course, now, if Big dog is up, so must Little dog be up. Can you tell who runs the BBB household?? Yes. You got it. Big dog and little dog!! Also, once we are up, as is the case with human children, there is never a solitary moment. Ever. Not even in the bathroom. Now, instead of ONE set of eyes watching, there are TWO!! It's brutal, I tell ya!!!
On a completely different horse, here. For the last few months, (and NOTE that I said MONTHS!!), as we have had reason to be in and out of the travel trailer, we have noticed, and really could NOT miss a horrible smell that persistently eminated from said trailer. Hubby first noticed it, not long after he winterized the trailer. Not having been in it for a while, when he opened the door, the wall of smell hit him pretty hard. He has torn that trailer apart ever since then trying to find the source of the smell. Our first thought was perhaps one of the field mice who reside nearby had gotten in as they are wont to do. So he looked in the storage under the seating. He looked in the storage you reach from outside the trailer. He looked in the bathroom. He looked in cabinets. He looked everywhere he could think of. Numerous times he looked. He found nothing. NADA!! As he was preparing to take the trailer out last weekend while bestie was here, he again noticed the smell. We have done everything we could. We used F@breze, we used Lysol, we used plug in fans. You name it. The smell was still there. So, he decided that he would just leave the windows and door open a while and maybe that would help. Which it did. A little. He began his loading ritual. He loads up stuff he wants to take with him in a large laundry basket, and takes each load out to the trailer. The basket can hold a LOT of stuff, therefore necessitating fewer TRIPS to load up. Among the things he loaded, were things like his fave French Vanilla Cappucino mix and coffee. Stuff that goes in a certain cabinet. Hubby opens said cabinet and almost gags. From the smell. He begins searching frantically knowing the source is somewhere in that cabinet. Then he found it!!! EUREKA!! The source of the smell!!! Which was: one half used package of J*immy Dean pork sausage.....in a baggy!!! Can you GAG with me folks!!
Other notes of interest...or not. We went to the home and garden show last night. I always enjoy walking around looking at the latest in home and garden offerings. Of particular interest this year was material for our countertops, which we STILL haven't decided on, and backsplash materials. I am pretty sure that my backsplash will be that really pretty little glass tile. It is what I want. And guess who is the installer for the main provider of that tile?? You got it. My loverly son-in-law!!! When we got to this particular supplier's booth, she had a whole stack of SIL's business cards laying there. She said he is the best installer she knows. I bet he will be getting a LOT of business after this show. She said she had handed out bunches of his cards. And there are two more days of the show. Wooohooo!! As LONG as SIL remembers his MIL needs her kitchen DONE. SOON!!! I will be talking with him about this when we go over there later today. MIL is ready to LOWER THE BOOM!! I need my cabinets!!!
One more week to go and I should have my last picture for the master bedroom back from framing. Then I can hang it and the room will be done for now...until we do flooring. Which I don't know WHEN that will happen. But I will get my trusty camera and show you the fruits of bestie's and my labor!! So, you will have to stay tuned folks. All two of you!! hehehehe
Well, mister is arisen. I must get with it. Get dressed. Eat breakfast. You know, those Saturday morning kinda things. You all take care and have a WONDERFUL weekend!!
Cya!!
BBB March 05 Funny!!!I promised to tell you all the funny that bestie told me over the weekend. So here we go. As I may have told you, at least I THINK I told you, bestie teaches kindergarten. She has done this for over 25 years and has some real doozie stories to tell. Art Linkletter proved over and over how FUNNY children could be....without even trying. Bestie said she just completed her one week presentation about careers. She stressed how important it was to get a good education and how Mommies and Daddies had to have careers (i.e. jobs) to pay for electricity, water, their houses and food and clothing. She had different people come in and talk with the kids. She had a nurse, a musician, etc. and on the LAST day, a fireman. She said that the fireman who came to speak was really nice and very informative. He was telling the children that when the alarm sounds at the station they only have TWO minutes to get on all their gear and be out of the fire station on the way to a fire. Two minutes! He said the only way to do that was to organize and lay out their gear so they can get them on quickly. He also pointed out that the children could do the SAME thing with their clothing to get ready for school each day. This would help their Mommies, yada yada. To prove the point, he laid out his gear, had BFF start a timer, and he put it all on....in two minutes!! At the end of his presentation, BFF took questions from the children. One little girl held up her hand. When bestie called on her, the following ensued:
Child: Mrs. S, I could NEVER, ever be a fireman!
Bestie: Why yes, Zoe, you can be a fireman. FIremen to not have to be just men. There are LOTS of women who are firepersons. So you surely could be one as well.
Child: No, Mrs. S, I could NEVER be a fireman. I mean, did you SEE the clothes he had to wear??? EEEEeeeewwwwwww!!! (said with a wrinkled up nose and GREAT disdain).
Bestie said she could HARDLY keep a straight face. Can you imagine this child when she is a teenager? I mean....she is only 5 and has this attitude!!
What a hoot!
Later, folks!
BBB March 04 Wonderful weekend!Yes. It was a wonderful weekend. Anytime I can spend time with the BFF is always a good time. She arrived at my house in time for us to hop in my car and go to my fave new sports bar/restaurant. We decided that diets and sensible eating were OUT for the weekend. We were just going to have fun and eat what we wanted. So we ordered yummy french fries covered with melted cheese, fresh crumbled bacon and green onions, served with ranch dressing for dipping. We also split a turkey club smothered in guacamole! Mmmmm mmmm good!! We sat and just ate and visited to our heart's content. After dinner, we headed back to the house and started making our plans for the master bedroom decorating project. We took a look at what I already had on hand. Then, we made a list of the things that BFF thought we needed to complete the project. We visited some more and then turned in for the night.
Saturday morning we took our time getting around, but once we hit the road, we shopped till we were about ready to drop. We pretty much got everything, with the exception of window treatments. We took a print that will hang over the bed in the room and picked out matting and a frame. It is the only thing not done for now. I will not get the picture back from the framing for about two weeks. I found two really beautiful rugs that will be spectacular once we get the new flooring in. That is a project we will take on after the kitchen. That will be a while, but I went ahead and got the rugs because 1) they were on sale and 2) they were a perfect match for my decor, and 3) did I mention they were on sale?? I love me a good bargain. I was REALLY disappointed NOT to find window treatments. I guess I am going to have to keep searching. Everything we found that I liked was either, not in stock, they only had ONE (and I needed two), or the size wouldn't work. It was really frustrating!!
Once we got all the stuff we needed, we set to work hanging pictures, etc. BFF also re-painted my cedar chest. She had previously painted it and all she had to do this time was change a few of the trim colors. Once I get the picture from being framed and I get it hung up, I will take pictures of the mostly completed room. Who knows, maybe in the meantime I can find some window treatments.
BFF also fell in love with Miss Piper. She had a blast playing with her. In a sideline business, BFF and her hubby do photography. Bestie brought her camera with her and she took some really cute shots of Piper in an easter basket. I hope they turn out well. If they do, I will post them as well.
Sunday morning we just hung around here at the house rather than going to church. Bestie headed back home pretty early in the day since it is about a two hour drive home for her. I really enjoyed the weekend. It was a good time, for sure. I have a story to tell you in a later post that bestie told me. One of her priceless teaching experiences. I shall share it with you all. But not tonight. I am gonna finish this little post. And I am going to publish it before IT also gets lost in the netherlands of MSN* spaces like the one I already wrote.
You all take care and I will be along soon with bestie's story. I think you'll enjoy it. Till then, take care my friends!!
BBB A report is coming...I promise!! I had one pretty much done yesterday and had to pull off of it so I saved it as a draft. Anyone want to guess what happened when I tried to go back in and complete it and post it?? Ummm....yeah! Uh huh!! It was NO. WHERE. TO. BE. FOUND!! Doggone Spaces!!! Arrrrggggghhhhhh!!
Later, my friends!
