    Oklahoma bedlam rocks on...

I have the big screen all to myself tonight.  I am settling myself in for some good old Oklahoma bedlam football.  It is what most Oklahoman's live for!!

I hope it's a good, hard fought game.  Not a runaway on either side.

Who will prevail?  Crimson and cream?  Or...Orange and black!

    We shall see!

    Gotta go!

    A shot in the butt....

Yep.  I finally broke down and went to the urgent care clinic up the street and that's what I got.  A nice shot in the butt and two prescriptions to boot.  You know you are not going to get good news when the doc is looking at your sinuses and goes, and I quote "Whoa!"  Anywho,  I headed to the pharmacy, got the scripts, several cans of chicken noodle soup and some crackers and I am in for the rest of the weekend.  On my only foray out yesterday, I went to Targay and bless their hearts, they had some older release movies on the cheap.  I bought four and have watched two.  It looks like I am on my way to being back to 100 percent.  The doc said the shot should take a day and a half to do it's magic.  Well, ain't it grand that JUST in time to go back to work from my MAHVELOUS week of vacation, I should be feeling better.  On the bright side, I already had the time scheduled off and didn't have to worry about work not getting done.  I always try to look at the positives ya know?  I am a glass half full kinda gal.

Hubby took the RV and went camping.  I figured that just because I didn't feel like going, that he should have to hang around here with my germs.  He just loves getting out and hanging around a great campfire.  It is a renewal for him, and given that this is such a busy time of year for him, I figured he needed to go do that.  We are staying in touch by phone.

I am doing a little laundry.  I needed fresh clean sheets and fresh clean clothes.  I just do a little and then rest.  Truthfully, there is not much I like more in life than being at home or with hubby.  So, even though there are things I probably COULD be doing, I am content to just cozy up here.  I have Piper to keep me company.  She's a pretty good little snuggle bug.

So, that's it for now.  I hope all of you got to hit the black Friday sales and picked up those bargains on Christmas gifts.

    Ya'll take care now!  Hugs!

    Thankful no matter what...

I think hubby and I are going to survive.  Both of us are feeling much better.  I have been dousing everything around here with Lysol.  We've both had showers and are doing pretty good.

I am thankful for our family.  Even if I didn't get to be with them, I know they got together and had a good time.  I am glad that I got to be with my Daddy and enjoy some time with him before I got sick.

I am thankful for friends.  I got a call from a church friend who just wanted to check in on hubs and me and see how we were doing.  Another friend (who had been enlisted to take care of our outside dog if we went to Houston) showed up at our door just now with several plates loaded with food from her family's dinner.  Isn't that just the sweetest thing?? She's a brave person to even step in our door with all the germs floating around.  I did assure her we were trying to stamp those suckers out with the Lysol.  She didn't seem worried in the least.  That is a true friend and I am thankful for her.

I am thankful for Puffs Plus Lotion tissues.  Otherwise, I think my nose MIGHT have fallen off by now.  hehehe

Seriously, though, I am thankful that hubs and I have jobs, a nice (if somewhat chaotic) home, cars that run, food on the table and the ability to pay our bills.

We have been truly blessed.  I am thankful for my blog friends.  I appreciate each and every one of you!

I hope everyone has had a blessed day!

    Ya think???

Okay.  I am going to let my blog buds weigh in on this one.  I am thinkin' that "signs" are telling us NOT to go to Houston.  Here they are.  Tell me what YOU think.

    1.   In the course of a conversation a day or so ago, hubby informs me that my son-in-law's Dad is back in the hospital.  However, SIL's Mom INSISTS she still wants everyone to come.  I can understand her wanting the kids to still come.  But I would not want a bunch of extra people staying with me if my hubby was in the hospital, holiday or not.  I'm just sayin'..

    2.  I get a call from hubby while I am visiting with my Daddy.  The call goes something like this "Granddaughter #1 got dropped."   Okay.  Now that could have several connotations.  So I asked for Ricky (hehe) to "esplain it to me".  It seems that during one of her practices, Granddaughter didn't "fly".  Her fellow cheerleaders dropped her.  The result?  A cracked ankle and she is out for the season.

    3.   I wake up at 5:15 a.m. this morning feeling pretty much like someone was doing a tap dance on my head with a jackhammer.  I could not breathe I was SO stopped up.  I have been snotting (pardon me this one) and fevering ALL freaking day.  I couldn't even get NEAR my Daddy before I left to come home for fear I would give him yet another cold.  He JUST got over one.

    4.    I called hubby when I got home and was advised that he woke up about 2 a.m. this morning tossing his cookies (pardon again please).

I am thinking that we are going N.O.W.H.E.R.E.!!  Ya think???

Hubby went to bed upon his arrival home.  That was about 11.  He is STILL there.  I have been having to run errands, like picking up the ham we were going to take, taking Piper to the groomers, etc.  I feel like C.R.A.P.!!!  Oh what a LOVELY vacation day!!  Yippee skippeee!!  I love taking my vacay days being sick!!

I did, however, have a wonderful time with my Daddy yesterday.  We sat back in his room and played dominoes and he also taught me some cribbage.  I kinda sorta suck at both, but we had a good time any way.  My sister fixed a nice meal last night and both my nieces and their kids came over.  My youngest niece is due 12/31 with her second boy.  She is doing great and looks great.

So there is the update on my couple of days.  Anyone want to lay odds on whether or not we are going anywhere??  I am just praying for 5 so I can go pick up Piper, feed dogs and go to bed.

    That is all, folks!

    Hugs!

    On the road.....

I am doing the happy dance and heading out on the road to see my Daddy.  Wooooofreakinghooo!!  I SO need this week of time off.

I will be peaking in when I can.

In the meantime, everyone have a GREAT week.  I know I intend to!

    Hugs to you all!

    What's up folks?

Hi everyone!  Just thought I'd stop by for a little bit of blogging.

    Here are a few updates:

I got a call from the cardiologist.  Nothing "abnormal" showed up on the monitor readings.  Big surprise.....NOT!  He is done with me.  No more tests, nada.  So, I had two episodes of illness for which I have no explanation.  I guess I just wait to see if I ever have another one.

I have been working in our other office for almost two weeks now.  They got the temp in to take my place this afternoon.  Woooohooooo!!  I will work with her tomorrow afternoon and Friday afternoon and then I am off for the next week taking much needed vacation.  Yaaaay!!

We are heading out next Wednesday for Houston to spend Thanksgiving with my SIL's folks.  We have been trying to get down there for two years, so I am hoping nothing stops us again.  Last time we were supposed to go was when hubby had his heart attack.  Last year we couldn't go down because SIL's dad was ill.  So I am crossing fingers and toes that we get to go.  I think it will be fun.

I am going Monday to see my Daddy and spend the night at my sister's.  I haven't seen him since he moved.  So, I am really looking forward to this little trip.

I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to family time and lots of good food next week.  I am gonna hop off here for now.  You all take care!!

    Hugs!!!

    Peekaboo!

Hi everyone!!  I am so sorry I have been absent for a while.  Here's an update on the BBB household:

My new BF is packed up and on its way back to CardioNet and not a MINUTE too soon to suit me.  I have never been so ready to be rid of something.  I had not so much as a blip of an episode while being monitored.  Figures, huh?

Piper's eye is healing very well.  She still has the halo on and it is a hoot.  But the eye is MUCH better.  She is being her usual pissant self!

Daddy has settled in well at my sister's house.  He loves the home cooking a lot.  But I think his favorite thing is that they hooked him up with *Dish* instead of cable.  He now has about 250 channels to surf to his little heart's content.  I talk with him at least two or three times a week and hope to see him soon.  I was sticking pretty close to home while being on the monitor.

Hubby and I went to see Carrie Underwood when she was here recently.  I am SO proud of this Oklahoman.  She is a PHENOMINAL talent.  Her voice is so pure and clear and beautiful.  I was MOST impressed with her show.  It was truly worth every penny paid for the tickets.

Step-son has been moved YET AGAIN.  He was doing SO well where he was and he hadn't had any infractions or anything.  He had a job he loved.  And as DOC is prone to do, they walked in one morning and said to pack his things he was moving THAT DAY!  They sent him back where he did NOT do well before.  I just hate it for him, but we are trusting that God has his reasons for this.

Last night hubby and I used his surprise (NOT) birthday tickets to go see the Eagles.  All I can say is they were A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!!!!  They played a nice mix of their new stuff and the old favorites.  On said favorites it was like a sing-along.  Pretty much everyone in the audience was singing along.

I am taking my health issues one day at a time.  So far I am not having any more problems.  Nuff said.  I hate complaining!!

Thanks everyone for checking in on me.  I have received messages from several of you asking about how I was doing.  I appreciate you all so much.  Take care and hugs to you all!
