Quiet Sunday...

Yes.  It is a quiet Sunday around the triple B household.  Hubby took two of our grandchildren and went camping on Friday evening.  He has our youngest granddaughter and our only grandson with him.  They haven't been out in the new RV so they were pretty excited to go.  Our kids were having their annual Halloween blow-out so we had offered weeks ago to watch the kids.  I'm not sure where our oldest granddaughter stayed this weekend, but it was probably with one of her cheer team buds.  I opted not to go camping even though it is my favorite time of year and it has been an absolutely LOVELY fall weekend here.  I had a hair appointment yesterday morning that I didn't want to miss, and, given my track record lately healthwise, I didn't want to get that far away from home.  So, I kept the weimie with me, and hubby took the little pissant and the kids.

Speaking of the pissant baby.  I haven't told you all about HER little episode of problems.  Last weekend, we noticed that her right eye was a little red but didn't think too much of it until Saturday night when it became apparent that she had a real problem.  Sunday morning we took her to animal emergency and she has an ulceration on her eye.  Two eye meds and almost a couple hundred dollars later, we took her home and were told to follow up with our regular vet Monday morning.  When I took her to our vet Monday morning, he told me we needed to cut the hair around her face so that it wouldn't get in her eye and irritate it worse.  He said he would keep her, give her a little sedation and do the trimming.  I said that would be fine.  Hubby and I talked and he said he would pick her up from the vet on his way home, which he did.  He said that when he got to the vet's that the vet just kept kind of hemming and hawing around and not bringing Piper out.  When he finally DID bring her out, we knew why.  He SHAVED her whole FACE!!  She doesn't even look like a shihtzu any more.  I will have to get a picture.  She has a plastic halo on as well.  To say that she looked positively PITIFUL would be an understatement.  Poor little thing!  However, she is healing nicely and has adapted to the halo pretty well.  She has been pretty full of herself for the last few days and doesn't let it stop her even ONE little bit.

As far as my new BF goes.  The FIRST one they sent me was defective.  I hadn't even had it on 24 hours when an alarm started going off saying that the leads were not connected, but they were connected.  Oh, and did I mention that this alarm went off while we were in line to pay for groceries in Wally world??  There was no quick exit to be had.  I know people had to be wondering what the HECK was going on.  Anywho, after many calls with the supplier of the monitor and trying ALL their rigamarole the darn thing was still going off so I took it off.  Yeah.  The first weekend of monitoring did not happen.  They were to have me a NEW monitor sent, but I wouldn't get it till Tuesday.  So, guess what happens at three a.m. on Sunday morning??  You guessed it.  I had one of the VERY episodes that they had wanted to record.  I could have been DONE with the monitoring people!!  But am I done??? NOOOOOOO!!  I was so mad!!  Oh well.  Me and my newer new BF (which I got on Tuesday as promised) are hanging out together and guess what??  You guessed it.  I haven't had so much as a blip of an "episode" like we wanted to record.  Now isn't that just DANDY??

Yesterday after getting my hair done, I had lunch with the Gypsy.  I have to say that I haven't seen her looking this good or feeling so good in a long, long time.  There is a long story there, but it is not mine to tell.  Just suffice it to say that life was NOT kind to her for quite a while.  However, due to some recent happenings in her life, she is like a whole new, renewed and refreshed woman.  Watch out world!!  The Gypsy is a force to be reckoned with when she is on her game.  I can tell you that given what she has been through, I am SO proud of her and SO very happy for her.

Well, I guess that is all I have for now.  I will try to post a picture of my pitiful Piper baby.  We can't bathe her or anything for a while so she not only has no face hair, she is one scruffy looking little dog.

I hope all my blog buds have had a lovely weekend!  Ya'll take care now!  Hugs!

Holes, dirt, monitors and other Friday fun....

Hey there, hi there!!  I usually love, love, love Fridays.  Today??  Not so much.  I started out my morning to the sound of men and motors.  The men, including SIL, were in MY kitchen.  The motors?  Were running the equipment to power out the foundation of my kitchen in order to find the water lines.  Once I dressed I found three men in my kitchen cutting away at concrete and digging up copious amounts of dirt.  I have pictures as proof folks.

First off are some pics of how my kitchen looked prior to the "demolition".   Please note the butt ugly wallpaper which previous owners MUST have thought was quite chic.

This was under the sink.  Ughhh!

Next is the lovely paper behind my cabinets:

Oh, and also awaiting me upon my arrival home today, was my NEW BEST FRIEND!!   Yep folks.  My heart monitor, in all it's technological glory, has arrived.  I get "wired up" tonight between the hours of 7 and 8 p.m.  From then on, I go no where or do nothing without my new BF!!  She isn't NEAR as pretty as my REAL BFF!!!  (I hope my real life BFF is reading this!!  Hugs to you if you are sweetie!!)

Anywhoodle.  Here she is:

Looks like fun huh?  Well, at least maybe we will make some headway on the health issues.

Well, my friends, that is all for now.  I hope everyone enjoys this LOVELY fall weekend.  Me, my hubby and my new BF are going to a bonfire/weenie roast tomorrow night with our new church.  I am really looking forward to it.

I love you all bunches and appreciate your support MORE than words can say!!

Wire me up!

Well folks, I am getting "wired up" tomorrow.  My heart monitor gets here tomorrow, and by tomorrow evening, they'll be recording every little beat o' my heart.  And none too soon.  By the time I got off work today, my blood pressure was, again, through the roof.  Sheesh!!  I am tired of this crap.  Oh well, tomorrow we begin to discover what's up, at least I hope we do.

Today, my SIL got my dishwasher and sink torn out.  So now all I have in my kitchen are my stovetop and oven, which probably won't be there much longer.  I am taking pictures and will post them as we go along.  Woohoo!  I am excited about the progress!

Thanks again for all your encouragement and prayers!!  You all are the very best and I appreciate each of you!

Hugs!

Same song....second verse...

Guess what I got on Monday??  My SECOND ambulance ride in a week.  I'm gonna end up being best buds with the paramedics in our area if we don't figure this mess out and SOON!!

I went to work Monday morning to my usual office.  My week in the main office over.  Woohoo!!  I wasn't feeling really great and my blood pressure, again, was borderline high, but off I went.  I was catching up on my previous week with one of my neighbors at work and I started feeling bad again.  After she left my office, I walked over to hers and told her I wasn't doing well.  She called hubby and I called my sister so she could get the cardiologist involved this time.  This time I was not only weak and faint, I was having chest pains.  SO, once again, I got to see my paramedic buds and the first responder buds.  They loaded my sick self and off I went in the ambulance.  This time I had them take me to the hospital where the cardiologist was and where my sis works.  To say that things moved slower than molasses in an ice storm would be an understatement.  I arrived at the ER around 11 a.m. and didn't even eyeball a doc face to face till about 3:30.  We mentioned we wanted the cardio doc involved and when the cardio guy flew into the ER, well, lets say things moved quickly.  I do have some irregularities in my EKG.  So cardio guy just decided to check my heart and be done with it.  Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. he did an angiogram.  The GOOD news is that I have NO blockages in my arteries.  The BAD news is that we have NO explanation yet for what is up with my health.  I have a low heart rate and when my blood pressure goes up much or if it tanks, I have these spells.  They are NOT fun!!  Daughter of my heart came by to check on me today and I told her I hope I don't get stopped by the police for anything.  They'll take one look at my arms and think I am a "user".  I've got bruises and poke holes all over both arms.  Just call me the human pin cushion!!

Anywho, I am home today because I can't drive till tomorrow.  I will go to work tomorrow for sure.  Then Friday, I have to take off to move my Daddy.  So, there's lots going on around here.  Not all of it is good, not all of it is bad.

I just wanted to update my buds!!  I love ya'll and I am hanging tough.  I guess we'll get everything figured out sooner or later.  I will keep you posted as I know stuff okay??  Thanks for all your support and prayers!  I love you all!

Who knows....

When I got to see the doc yesterday, she didn't have the results from the monitor yet.  She thought she might have them today, but I heard nothing.  So, who knows what's up.  Certainly not me.  I do know that no matter what the monitor readings show that my doc is referring me to hubby's cardio guy as I requested.  I will for sure be having at least a stress test and whatever else will be up to the cardio guy. He is really thorough and I also know that my sister will be watching out for me since she works for this doc.

So I go into a new week not knowing any more than I did on Sunday.  But I will be hanging in there.  I finished my week in our other office, thank God.  It was a stressful week, but I got it done.  Woohooo!!

Tomorrow, the rest of the kitchen comes out.  Therefore, it's paper plates, plastic forks and no cooking for the duration till everything is back in.  I will be taking pictures!!

Ya'll have a great weekend!!

Hugs!

A little update...

Just thought I would let you all know, I don't have any test results yet.  The cardiologist should be reading the holter monitor and hopefully have the results on that before I meet with my primary doc on Thursday morning.  I anticipate that she (my primary doc) will set up a stress test and a cardiac profusion study which the ER doc said should be done.

At the ER they ran a thyroid test and it was good.  The paramedics checked my blood sugar and it was good.  Those are the only results anyone told me so far.  I am taking my blood pressure twice a day right now and it is running borderline high.

I am not feeling great, but I went back to work today.  The guys are depending on me this week with their admin being gone this week.  Everyone is being very nice, but it is pretty high stress.  Probably NOT what I need right now, but it can't be helped.

I will let you all know if anything else comes up before Thursday (hopefully, I will have nothing to report).  And I will surely keep you posted.

I appreciate all your kind thoughts and prayers right now!  You all are the very best!

Love ya!

A first.....

And not a good one.  I got my very first ride in an ambulance yesterday.  Let's back up and I will tell you why.  I got up yesterday morning, hubby headed off to see our son in McAlester, and I got ready and picked up my Daddy to take him to visit his and Momma's long time church one more time before he moves.  My niece and her three kids met us at church.  Once that was over, I called my sister and she met all of us at Daddy's fave place.....Golden Corral, for lunch.  We had a great time and all had eaten our lunch, including me.  My Daddy had gotten up and wandered over to get some dessert.  The rest of us were sitting and visiting.  All of a sudden I got really warm and started sweating so I took my jacket off.  Then my ears started ringing.  I just KNEW I was gonna pass out.  I put my head down in my hands.  My sister and niece asked if I was okay and I said NO.  I just started feeling worse and worse, so they helped me lay down on the floor (that floor was so nasty, but you do what you have to).  Both my hands became totally numb.  It was freaking me out to say the least.  My sister (who works for a cardiologist) could not find a pulse and said my lips were bluish.  My niece called 911 and I was taken by ambulance to the hospital.  They say my blood pressure tanked and that is why I almost passed out.  By the time I got to the hospital, all my vitals were good.

Upon arrival one hateful nurse decided that since I was stable the ambulance guys should put me in a wheel chair and let me sit in the waiting room of the ER.  I felt sorry for those paramedics.  You could tell they didn't want to do so, but had no choice.  By the time hubby and  my family got there, it was all they could do to talk me out of walking outta there.  If the ambulance guys hadn't stuck a port in my hand to draw blood, and if I could have removed it, I would have left.  I was so angry.  EVERYONE including the bitchy nurse apologized to me, and I was told that I never should have been sent out there.

So, here I sit, at home, with a holter monitor on for 24 hours to monitor my heart.  I have to call my primary care doc to schedule more tests on my heart as well.

What a FINE mess!!  I have more leads, wires and tape on me than a critically ill patient.  The tape itches like a son of a gun and is driving me nuts.  But, I know very well that it's going to be worse later today when I have to take this stuff off and take the monitor to the hospital to be read.  For just the short time I had the leads on yesterday (put on my the emergency workers), when the lady from the Cardiac area took THOSE off to put on different ones, I had HUGE painful red areas all where I'd had them.  After having this stuff on for 24 hours, I may not have any skin left when I take the leads off.

I also had the task of calling my boss yesterday to tell him I would NOT be able to be in today to work.   I was supposed to be there all week to fill in...and he was on vacay all last week.  He took it pretty well but I still felt bad.  I will probably miss more work having further tests.  But, it's not like I planned it this way.

So there you have it.  I am sitting here at home, with both my dogs, taking it easy.  We still haven't gotten my car home from the restaurant.  What a way to spend a beautiful Sunday, eh?

I'll keep you all posted!!

Pictures...

Well, I tried ONE way to add pics and it didn't work without a whole lot of trouble.  So, I will just do it this way.

009

This is the busted up OLD tile.

010

This is how my dishwasher is now installed.  My sink is just to the right of it.  I love not having to bend over to load dirty dishes.  Color me LAZY...I don't care!

011

This is my corner sink.  Notice that hubs has taken the doors off and is working in there.  The sink is original to the house (built in 1973).  Color me ready for a NEW sink that will come clean!!

012

This is my new five burner GAS cook top and my new oven which will be built in properly with the new kitchen.  Color me happy to have a GAS cooktop!  I burn everything I touch on electric which is what I had before.

014

This is my new pantry which hubby has already built.  Notice my absolutely BEAUTIFUL door.  I don't think you can tell, but is says "PANTRY" on it.

015

And, lastly, the connection for where my fridge USED to set.  This will be capped off.  Isn't hubby gonna have FUN with that??  Notice the nice HOLE in the foundation!!  Loverly!

So, there you have it.  I will post pics when we get farther along so you can see the progress.

Color me outta here!

Just breathe....

Things are getting a little intense around the BBB household.  For one, I worked in our other office yesterday (worked my doggone butt off!!) and will be working there every day next week.  My boss's admin there winged her way off yesterday for 8 days in Hawaii , darn her lucky hide!!!  I'm jealous, but happy for her.  That is someplace I only DREAM of going.

Secondly, my wonderful son-in-law truly has started building my new cabinets for the kitchen.  Can you say it with me friends??? Woooooofreakinhoooooo!!  Hubby has been busy this week busting up the existing tile floor and making other preparations for moving the water line to the far side of the kitchen for my new island.  Today, we have to go look at "drawer type" dishwashers because SIL thinks they would be easier to integrate into the design than the new one I already have.  The problem there is that my existing dishwasher is built in about a foot and a half off the floor and it is right next to my sink.  That way, I don't have to bend over to load the dishwasher.  That is the ONE feature I insisted on in this new kitchen.  This must remain the same, which presents GREAT design problems.  So, being the enterprising man he is, SIL thinks a drawer type washer on either side of my freaking new sink (which has been sitting out in my garage for two years), would be just the ticket.  We shall see if we can even AFFORD such a washer, much less TWO.  I will try to post some pics of how things look NOW...so you can see the difference when we are done!  Oh, and we have to meet with SIL to pick out my new granite for the countertops and the glass tile for my backsplash!!  I. AM. SO. EXCITED!!!!!

Last night was a much needed and anticipated night out for hubby and I.  We had tickets to go see *Jeff*Dunham* and his puppets.  Turns out that Daughter of my Heart (for you who are new to this blog....she is my daughter from my first marriage who I did not BIRTH, but love just as if I did!!)....and her hubby got tickets as well.  So we met them for dinner before the show and all rode over together.  They only sat a section away from us.  I have to say that I have NEVER laughed so hard in all my life at a show.  I had tears just streaming down my face from laughing so hard, and at times it was all I could do to catch my breath.  Now, I will say that many many people brought children to this show.  NOT a good idea as it was definitely adult oriented humor even if Jeff does use the cutest puppets on the planet.  There was a lady, obviously a grandma, with her grandson, a couple of seats away from us.  I have a feeling she was having second thoughts about bringing that kid.  What was so great though was when Jeff brought out his opening act *Guitar*Guy*!  He was toying with him and it was obvious because this guy was struggling SO hard, as a supposed "straight man" not to laugh.  It was obvious that Jeff wandered off into some unplanned territory thanks to the lively crowd.  It made it just THAT much funnier!  If you get a chance to see his show, I highly recommend it, or go on over to *You*Tube* and catch some of his clips or go on *Amazon* and buy his tapes.  You won't be sorry!  Just be prepared to laugh your butt off!!  Go ahead!!  It's GOOD for you to laugh!!

Next thing up in our show hopping tour around the BBB household is.....Oklahoma's own.....*Carrie*Underwood*!!  Then after THAT, it's the *Eagles*!!  I canNOT wait!!

I may be sporadic getting on here next week due to working in our other office.  I will be lucky to be able to drag my tired butt home each day.  But I will check in when I can.  Also on my plate is completing packing for my Daddy's move on the 17th!  So,  as you can see, there's LOTS going on in my household.  I hope all my blog buds are doing well.  I love ya'll much!!

Hugs!
